Ladies' Section

We are a friendly and very active section of more than 140 ladies, offering a wide range of golf played as singles, pairs and in teams.

Ladies meet every Tuesday for qualifying stroke play and, particularly in the winter, occasional drawn team competitions.  We offer an alternative qualifying Stableford and Medal one Saturday or Sunday each month for those unable to join us on Tuesdays. We include parallel 9-hole Stableford competitions on many Tuesdays. We also run match-play tournaments throughout the winter and summer for singles and pairs.

Our informal roll ups are on Thursday afternoons (9 holes) and Friday mornings (18 holes) – they are open to all and are the perfect way to start meeting other players and to get to know the courses. We have WhatsApp groups for each to help communicate playing times and participants.

We encourage and promote competitive match play golf against other clubs and annually enter teams for all the major county trophies including the Stoneham Cup (WHI 0-24), the Woods Trophy (WHI 20.5 -35) and the Hayling Trophy (24.1 – 36). We also organise friendly Ladies and Combined matches against other local clubs during the summer and these are always played in pairs.

As a welcoming ladies' section, we can offer you a buddy, if you would like one, to show you the ropes and help you settle into the club.

Please note that you will be required to have a current WHS handicap index and this should be a maximum of 36.0. The Club Committee may exercise discretion around these handicap requirements, subject to discussion around individual circumstances.
